Computer simulation has increasingly become the most popular and frequently employed tool for problem solving and decision-making in the manufacturing and production environment. Simulation has been commonly used to study the behaviour of real-world manufacturing system to gain better understanding of the underlying problems. Simulation is also very effective in comparing different alternatives for area of improvement on an existing system.
