119 p.This thesis discusses some Surface Plasmon Polaritons (SPPs) based active devices, which form important components of integrated optics. Plasmonics holds promise of realizing devices at nanoscale that are compatible with present CMOS fabrication technology. A complete SPPs based integrated circuit should consist of compact devices that generate, modulate and detect light. In this work, two different designs of plasmonic laser as well as an electro-optic plasmonic modulator have been discussed.DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (EEE
