In recent years, the problem of providing QoS support in an internetworking environment has received considerable amount of attention, due to the fact that there is a strong need to support a large variety of traffic with QoS requirements running on top of within the TCP/IP architecture. This has created tremendous interest in this area and myriad of methods have been advocated by researchers to transport IP traffic over ATM networks with predictable Quality of Service (QoS) in terms of controlled response time and guaranteed bandwidth to support real-time and multimedia applications.Master of Science (Communication and Network Systems
