ABSTRACT A window in a home and building refers to the opening in a wall. There are different types of window designs with appropriate glazing systems, which help to diminish building energy intake for warming and cooling and contribute to building a greener economy. This report accesses and discusses nine different glazed window types which are made of clear glass, colour-tinted glass, reflective glass and low emissivity (low-e) glass. These materials reduce the warming and cooling loads of buildings by regulating the amount of solar energy and conserving the heat, with some to a larger extent.
