This study took a qualitative approach to provide insight into the ethicality of guanxi, from the perspectives of Taiwanese working women. Participants were 22 females with extensive work experience. Three areas of interest were examined, namely (a) the importance of guanxi, (b) the general perceptions of guanxi, and (c) the ethical boundaries of guanxi. Results showed guanxi was perceived as important in Taiwanese work context. Secondly, Taiwanese working women generally viewed guanxi in a positive light, and therefore, were likely to perceive guanxi as ethical. Lastly, guanxi could be unethical under certain circumstances, specifically, when corruption, yingchou, sexual transactions, and certain forms of gift-giving were involved.Bachelor...
