Antibiotics can enter towards natural waterbodies through various pathways, causing environmental risks. Granular activated carbon (GAC) was deployed for removing two different types of antibiotics, namely ampicillin and ciprofloxacin from aqueous solution. Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order kinetic model were suitable for describing the experimental data for antibiotics adsorption. It was found that both ampicillin and ciprofloxacin could be removed efficiently by GAC adsorption with a maximum adsorption capacity of 204 mg/g.Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental Engineering
