47 p.This is a comparative study of U.S. policy towards Iraqi reconstruction with U.S. policy towards postwar Japan. Since the end of World War, the U.S. has been engaged in many post-war reconstructions in other defeated states, and one of American objectives for reconstructions has never changed, that is, democratizing the defeated states according to the values Americans hold, and in most cases the U.S. has succeeded.
