Thermoacoustic as the name suggests, uses thermal energy to create acoustical or sound energy and vice versa through a combination of interaction between several parameters such as temperature, pressure and density. Presently, thermoacoustic devices are used in a myriad of different purposes for example, provide mechanical work as an engine, refrigeration and to also model the instability in a combustion engine. To setup a basic thermoacoustic device, one will basically need a heat source to heat a wire mesh and a hollow cylindrical tube.
