This report aims to present the design and implementation of a grid-tie inverter. Grid-tie inverter was a critical connection between output of renewable source, such as solar panel and existing power grid. Therefore the research and development of grid-tie inverter to deal with environmental issue such as global warming that results from increasing in world’s population and demand for fossil fuels was necessary. The first part of the report would focus on the design the grid-tie inverter system. The grid-tie inverter system consisted of two parts namely the DC-DC boost converter to boost the input DC voltage to a higher voltage level and the DC-AC inverter for converting DC input to AC output.
