The Asian financial crisis in 1997-98 has catapulted the Indonesia political economy into a tailspin, leaving in its wake the bittersweet legacy of Soeharto's 32 years of authoritarian control. Almost 8 years have since passed by, with the presidency changing hands 4 times. By leveraging on Robert Cox's historical structure which views the tripolar interaction between 3 components, namely ideas, power, and institutions; this dissertation sets out to examine the shifts that have occurred in the post-crisis Indonesian political economy, and to predict what it would evolve into in the future.Master of Science (International Political Economy
