Static mechanical properties such as yield strength and hardness are readily available from many different sources. However, strain rate dependant data are not always included in them. This is because quasi-static and high strain rate conditions do not typically have a standard approach in measurement, hence its properties cannot be easily obtained. Such data, however, are important for dynamic loadings of materials in high risk industry, such as aerospace and automobile.
