Sve metode unutar Natural Horsemanshipa zasnivaju se na promatranju ponašanja divljih konja te njihovim meĊusobnim interakcijama. Prije poĉetka primjene ovakvog naĉina treninga potrebno je detaljno prouĉiti osjetila konja te njegove prirodne reakcije poput straha, ljutnje itd. Nijedna metoda nema propisana pravila, već su dana naĉela kojih se potrebno pridrţavati, a sam trening se prilagoĊava svakom konju ponaosob.
