Risemantizzare la memoria : il conflitto tra Papa bar Aggai e Miles di Susa nell'ottica del catholicos di Seleucia

Diverse sources speak of a synod that was held in the 4th century to challenge the authority and attitude of Papa, bishop of Seleucia-Ctesiphon, with the bishop of Susa, Miles, playing the role of Papa's adversary. While the various sources share the same narrative nucleus, even a superficial reading reveals profound divergences concerning their favourable or unfavourable stance towards the catholicos. It is precisely from the coexistence (and connected ambiguity), within single witnesses, of narrative similarities and interpretative discordances, that it seems possible to reconstruct the plausible chronology of the sources, hypothesizing and analysing a sort of "re-semantization of memory
