Toxoplasmosis is a common zoonosis worldwide caused by Toxoplasma gondii with high infection prevalence in humans and animals. It is usually asymptomatic, however in immunocompromised individuals and in fetuses it may cause severe injuries. This work aims to identify the incidence of T. gondii infection in sheep during pregnancy and the losses. Blood samples were collected by venipuncture of the jugular from 411 sheep, Corriedale breed, in extensively handling by two flock’s from the municipality of Herval and Piratini in southern Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
