The Argentine Participation in the Agenda of Security Cooperation and Fight against Organized Crime of UNASUR

El artículo aborda los antecedentes que dieron origen en el 2012 a la creación del “Consejo Suramericano en materia de seguridad ciudadana, justicia y coordinación de acciones contra la delincuencia organizada transnacional” de la Unión de Naciones Suramericanas (UNASUR). A lo largo del mismo se identifican los principales debates que guiaron las negociaciones, poniendo de relieve el activo rol de Argentina en el proceso de construcción de este sistema cooperativo regional en un escenario latinoamericano signado por el avance del delito organizado.The article addresses the background that led to the creation of the "South American Council on Citizen Security, Justice and Coordination of Actions against Transnational Organized Crime" in 2012 by the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR). Throughout it, the main debates that guided the negotiations are identified, highlighting the active role of Argentina in the process of building this regional cooperative system in a Latin American scenario marked by the advance of organized crime
