The birth of the ancient astronomy. Cultural stabilization and destabilization

En este artículo defendemos que la constitución de la astronomía antigua debe verse como un proceso de transferencia cultural entre diversos pueblos de la Antigüedad, a pesar de que muchas innovaciones en este campo han sido erróneamente atribuidas a los griegos, ignorando el papel de egipcios o babilonios. Mostramos que el considerar a la técnica como un saber inferior frente al conocimiento teorético es obra de la estabilización cultural llevada a cabo por Platón y Aristóteles.In this article, we argue that ancient astronomy was formed by a process of cultural transfer between various classical cultures, despite that many of the innovations in this field have erroneously been attributed to the Greeks, ignoring the role of the Egyptians and Babylonians. We show that the consideration of practical knowledge as being inferior to theoretical knowledge is the result of cultural stabilization brought about by Plato and Aristotle.Grupo de Investigación Antropología y Filosofía (SEJ-126).
