Alumni seminarium krakowskiego w latach 1901–1918

The purpose of the article is to examine the group of basic issues connected with candidates for priesthood in the Cracow diocese from 1901–1918. The state of the diocese at the beginning of the XX century, which was closely connected with the process of supplementing of personnel of clergymen, applied requirements to candidates, their territorial and social origin will be discussed. Candidates’ age along with education and the quantity of those who were accepted and ordained in the perspective of needs of pastoral dioceses will also be discussed in the article. The research has been based on sources which are stored in the Archive of Metropolitan Curia in Cracow and in the Archive of Jagiellonian University in Cracow
