With the impressive performance of the LHC delivering two times the design luminosity an upgrade of the CMS Pixel Detector is required to maintain and extend the tracking efficiency. The upgrade plans comprise several changes in geometry and material budget as well as a new Readout Chip (ROC). This ROC is being tested at various institutes in the laboratory and in test beams at DESY, CERN and FNAL. In the DESY electron/positron test beam, the DATURA high-resolution beam telescope is used to explore the features of the new chip design.
