Monitoramento e modelagem de um sistema filtro - vala - trincheira de infiltração em escala real

Infiltration systems aim to reduce the effects of urbanization, waterproofing and runoff, acting at the origin of the runoff. The objective of this project was to monitor a Filter - Swale Trench (FVT) system, built at UFSCar s campus in real scale by retaining the runoff produced by waterproofed areas. The FVT system was built in soil described as sandy loam, with infiltration capacity between 2,30x10-5 and 6,05x10-6 meters/second, and was obtained by doing testes in field using double ring infiltrometer and inverted well, respectively. The FVT system was monitored by measuring the precipitation, the inflow system, the level of water stored, and by verifying that the system functioned during the rainfalls. Sixty rainfalls were monitored, with up to a 48 year return period, with no extravasations. We observed differences between the design and operation of the system, such as the catchment area, the infiltration area and losses in the channel distribution. This shows that the structure is larger than actual scenario. We compared the fine content of the gravel and sand filter and the geotextile s permeability of the infiltration trench, sampled after construction and after about a year of system operation. After the period of operation, the gravel and sand filter showed an average reduction in fine content of 29% and 52%, respectively. The geotextile showed partial clogging, which reduced its permeability by an average of 45%. The system has been modeled using the PULS method and SWMM model. The PULS modeling method allowed us to determine the water storage level satisfactorily. Graphically, the storage level curves are similar, with average values of the Nahs - Sutcliffe coefficient (NS) of 0,43, a mean maximum storage level error of 29% and mean empting time absolute error of 36%, obtained in the validation model. The SWMM model enabled the microbasin simulation to run a Departmento de Medicina bulding and the FVT system performed unsatisfactorily and demonstrated some limitations. The model validation presented absolute mean errors of peak runoff at 58%, accumulated inflow volume of 35%, mean error of the maximum storage level of 72%, mean error of emptying time of 79%, mean NS values of inflow of 0,02 and mean NS values of storage level of - 0,79. Using the SWMM model resulted in lower levels of storage and smaller emptying times than those using the PULS model. The system maintenance summed up in cleaning the land, removing sediments from the measurement channel, and performing gardening services. The system maintenance cost in the first year of operation was R$ 85,00 / month or R$ 0,67 for each square foot of impervious drained area, considered high compared to maintenance costs of conventional drainage systems.Universidade Federal de Sao CarlosEstruturas de infiltração objetivam minimizar os efeitos da urbanização, da impermeabilização do solo, do aumento do escoamento superficial direto (ESD) e das inundações, agindo na origem da produção do ESD. O objetivo deste trabalho foi monitorar e modelar um sistema Filtro - Vala - Trincheira de infiltração (FVT), construído no campus da UFSCar em escala real para retenção do ESD produzido por áreas impermeabilizadas. O sistema FVT foi construído em solo caracterizado como areia média argilosa, com capacidade de infiltração entre 2,30x10-5 m/s e 6,05x10-6 m/s, obtidas em ensaio de campo com duplo anel e poço invertido, respectivamente. Fez-se o monitoramento do sistema FVT através de medidas de precipitação, vazão afluente ao sistema, nível de água armazenado na trincheira e vala de infiltração e verificação do funcionamento do sistema durante as chuvas. Foram monitorados 60 eventos de chuva com até 48 anos de período de retorno, sem registro de extravasamento do sistema. Observaram-se diferenças entre projeto e operação do sistema, como área de captação, área de infiltração e perdas no canal diafragma de distribuição. Constatou-se que a estrutura está superdimensionada para o cenário atual. Compararam-se o teor de finos da brita de preenchimento e da areia do filtro e a permeabilidade do geotêxtil da trincheira de infiltração, amostrados após a construção e após o funcionamento de um ano do sistema. Após o período de funcionamento, a brita de preenchimento e a areia do filtro apresentaram redução do teor de finos em média de 29% e 58%, respectivamente. O geotêxtil apresentou colmatação parcial e redução de sua permeabilidade em média em 45%. Modelou-se o sistema de infiltração utilizando PULS e o modelo SWMM. A modelagem pelo método de PULS possibilitou representar as etapas de funcionamento do sistema FVT e nível de armazenamento de maneira satisfatória. Graficamente, as curva de nível de armazenamento são semelhantes, com valores médios de coeficiente de Nahs - Sutcliffe (NS) de 0,43, de erro absoluto de nível máximo de 29% e de erro absoluto dos tempos de esvaziamento de 36%, obtidos na validação do modelo. A modelagem utilizando SWMM possibilitou a simulação da microbacia composta pelo Edifício do Departamento de Medicina e sistema FVT de maneira insatisfatória e apresentando limitações. A validação do modelo resultou em erros médios absolutos das vazões de pico afluente ao sistema de 58%, de volume afluente de 35%, de nível máximo de armazenamento 72%, de tempo de esvaziamento de 79%, de NS médio das vazões afluentes de 0,02 e de NS médio dos níveis de armazenamento de -0,79. As modelagens utilizando SWMM resultaram em menores níveis de armazenamento e menores tempos de esvaziamento do que aquelas utilizando PULS. A manutenção do sistema FVT resumiu-se em serviços de limpeza do terreno, remoção de sedimento do canal de medição e serviços de jardinagem. O custo de manutenção do sistema em seu primeiro ano de funcionamento foi de R$85,00/mês ou R$0,67 por unidade de área impermeável drenada, considerado alto em relação aos custos de manutenção de sistemas de drenagem convencional
