IEEE 802.16 standard, known as Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX), is expected to arise as the main broadband wireless access (BWA) technology, providing high-speed data access to subscribers. In this research, the scheduler, an important part of such a network, is investigated. Although IEEE 802.16 defines five specific Quality of Service (QoS) classes, scheduling algorithm is left open for research. For this reason, we evaluate the performance of Modified Deficit Round Robin (MDRR) scheduling algorithm in several WiMAX network scenarios. The results show that MDRR scheduling algorithm meet IEEE QoS requirement, and thus, is possible to be deployed in real network
