In the last three months, Indonesia was subjected to several disasters triggered by storm wave and high tide wave. The disasters brought about decrease fishing, marine erosion, infrastructure damage, as well as boat damage and lost. Coastal disaster is not single process, but it occurs in complex systems. Understanding to the sequential processes of coastal disaster thereby is needed in order to anticipate its occurrences. Coastal disasters are resulted from coastal dynamics to which seven factors interact interdependently. The factors are astrodynamics, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, morphodynamics, geodynamics, ecodynamics, and sociodynamics. Faults and joints are the indicator of a tectonic pressure, and the coastal area is tsunami vulnerable. The risk reduction in delta areas can be conducted through natural barrier winds and waves by planting mangrove. Principally, coastal disaster risk reduction can be promoted by providing community disaster preparedness education. Education preparedness education, local people are able to recognize the indications (signs) prior to the disasters. Thereafter, the communities are able to anticipate the disaster threat.
