Thepurpose of this experiment was determine the Dieffenbachia groth responses to the nitrogen fertilizer and shade intensity. The experiment was conducted at the Agricultural Research Station, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, Wedomartani, Sleman, Yogyakarta Province, during the period of August up to December 2003. A factorial experiment of 4 x 4 factors was employed, Where the treatments wae arranged in Spiit Plot Design with 3 replications. The main plots were shade intensities consisted of 4 levels namely: no shade (O%),shadeintensity 25%, shade intensity 50% and shade intensity 75%.The sub plots were nitrogen dosages, consisted of 4 levels namely: no fertilizer, 2g, 4g and 6g/pot.
