ABSTRACTS Effects of tempe as a source of protein in the diet on lipid profile in rats was observed. This research was divided into two studies. The first study investigated the effects of tempe and soy protein diet on the plasma lipid profile (Total Cholesterol, HDL-Cholesterol, LDLCholesterol and Triacylglycerol) and the second, observed the effects of tempe protein level (0255075 and 100 % tempeproteins) in the diet on plasma lipid profile. Fifteen Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were used and divided into three groups of five rats in the first study. In the second study 25 rats were used and divided into five groups of five rats. The result showed that tempe protein diet have a similar abilities with soy protein in lowering plasma cholesterol....
