This research studied the influence of muffler volume on the noise level of petrol engine. In this research, 5 pieces of muffler were made with volume various types but the same forms. The test was conducted by Engine Research and Test Bed GWE-80/100HS-A V, with loaded variation of 1500, 1750, 2000, 2250, 2500, 2750, and 3000 rpm. This research taken accoustic and engine performance data. The measurement of accoustic data using by a tape recorder, it is placed 1.25 meters in front and beside of exhaust pipe. And then the record of accoustic data was analysed by Signal Analyser.
