The subjects of this research were T-100 and T-200 coal seam in the Tutupan area, Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The aim of the research was intended to explain about the control of stratigraphy against the increasing quality of the Warukin Formation coal. The result was based on the depth versus physical properties of the T-200 coal seam as follow: the inherent moisture and total moisture the deeper of the T-200 coal seam were lower then those the upper of the T-200 coal seam. The volatile matter, fixed carbon, calorific value, ash and total sulfur the deeper of the T-200 coal seam were higher than those the upper of the T-200 coal seam.
