Industrial scale plantation establishment ofAcacia mangium in Sumatera and other parts of Indonesia, began in the last of 1970s. Most of the A. mangium seed originated from ex-situ source of Subanjeriji, South Sumatera. The stands were planted using bulk seed of South Queensland provenances with low productivity and narrow genetic base characteristics. Research objective was to investigate the highest productivity among the provenances of three major natural distributions. A provenance trial of A. mangium in Kampar Kiri, Riau was analyzed for its growth traits (height, diameter and volume) at age 30 months.
