ABSTRACT A series of test on fibre reinforced concrete bricks was conducted to study the compressive strength and water absorption capacity to improve the quality. The fibres were made of coconut fibres in the length of 60 mm (aspect ratio of 300) and added into the mortar mixes in the proportion of 0.000.501.001.502.002.50and 3.00 % by volume. The water cement ratio of 0.60 and two varies of aggegate cement ratio, i.e. 7 : 1 and 8 : 1, were used in the research. The samples were tested on 28 days of old. The results showed that the addition of coconut fibres increased the compressive strength of concrete bricks and reached the optimum content of fibres of 2.39 % and 1.17 % for mixes made with aggregate cement ratio of 7 : 1 and 8 : 1 respe...
