Pemodelan Kebutuhan Sarana dan Prasarana Pelabuhan Penyeberangan Studi Kasus Pelabuhan Penyeberangan Merak-Bakuheni

The intention of this research is to model the need of vessel and infrastructure facilities on ferry ports, and therefore the existing and the future needs can be known. A case study was carried on ferry ports Merak - Bakuheni where comprehensive data was used. Data was collected by Fathoni (2005), Napoleon (2005), Puslitbang Manajemen Multi Moda(2005) and reinforced by data from PCI (1998) and MCI (2003). Different from the sea ports, to model the operational on ferry ports one should take consideration that such port is a closed system and only influenced by the operational of a pair port. A demand model was developed to analyze the existing and future conditions. Results of modeling showed that the number of ro-ro vessel was determined by the demand in Merak, moreover the number of trip per day determined by the total service time. In addition, it can be concluded that the need of parking area was dependent on the time of vessel occupied the berth. Therefore, it is suggested that a time limit for a vessel on a berth is necessary to be applied
