Pengaruh Air Dalam Reservoir Bendungan Kota Panjang Terhadap Kelestarian Situs Muaratakus

Situs Muaratakus is one of the 7 archeological situs, they are national property, which must be conserved. Kota Panjang dam located at downstream about 40 km from situs Muaratakus. It\u27s a strategical program of the government province for economic development in Riau and west Sumatera. Caused by raising the water level in dam reservoir, consequently seepage accured in sub soil, soil becomes wet, and wall of the temple becomes humid, so it\u27s easy the growth of fungi and moss at the surface of the wall. It\u27s feared the conservation of the situs Muaratakus disturbed, therefore need of the research about seepage. The research was conducted to investigate the position of the soil layer, also physical and mecanical characteristic of the soil by taking soil sample. The investigation was run by field test. The types of the test are static penetration and boring tests. The result showed that the raising water level in the reservoir of Kota Panjang dam influences of the soil moisture content, but it doesn\u27t influence the humadity of the wall, so that the conservation situs Muaratakus doesn\u27t disturbe
