Faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan pemilihan tubektomi pada pasangan usia subur (pus) dl Kabupaten Purbalingga=Relationship Factors Tubectomy Option among Eligible Couples in Purbalingga Regency

ABSTRACT One of the new paradigms from the International Conference on Population and Development is the concept of reproduction right for female in relation to reproduction and family Planning. The level of participation among eligible couples in the use of tubectomy contraception is still low as in Central Java, it is only 6.63% of the total contraception use. One of the problems is negative perception of tubectomy and its limited acces to tubectomy service. This study is in general aimed at finding out factors of knowledge, perception, staff attitude, frequency of meeting mith Family Planning service staff, and social support for choosing tubectomy. Specifically this study was aimed at 1) finding pout the relationship between knowledge, perception and eligible couples income, one the one hand and choosing tubectomy contraception2) finding out the relationship between aspect of staff attitude, and frequency of meeting and family planning service staff and choosing tubectomy3) finding out the relationship between social support and choosing tubectomy. This was a non-experimental study using cross-sectional method with survey technique. Analysis was done quantitatively. This study was done in Purbalingga regency with eligible couples who were contraception users and had minimum than two children. Samples were taken using multistage random sampling for quantitative analysis while chi-square and logistic regression was used for statistical test. The results showed that knowledge, perception, staff attitude, and social support were factors that had relationship with the choice of tubectomy (p0.05) eligible couples chose nontubectomy contraception because it was appropriate, the service location was easy, they did not get any approval from their husbands if they choose tubectomy, they might Want to get more children, it was forbidden by their religionand they were afraid to use tubectomy contraception. Some eligible couples choose tubectomy because tubectomy was safe from pregnancy, they did not want to get more children and it was easy.
