The main aim of this research is to examine, both theoretically (analytically) and experimentally, the flexural behavior of structurally "over-reinforced" High-Strength Concrete (HSC) beams, in which additional stirrups as confinement were introduced at the compression regions. The laboratory test included twelve 200 mm x 300 mm x 4000 mm of structuraly HSC beams, which were designed to resist bending moment. The beams were designed, both conventionally (under-reinforced) and over-reinfOced. Several beams were confined at the compressive path with rectangular closed strirrups, while the remaining beams were conventionally detailed.
