Women\u27s participation in the work force increases, women\u27s jobs are often well acknowledged nor appreciated as they should be. Thereforce, the contribution of female workers is not yet visible, because they are not the primary breadwinners. For the purpose, this research was conducted by studying the case of limestone industry in Jimbung village, the Klaten Regency. The case has shown the involement of the workers in the existing limestone industry al¬though it has experienced high and low development. This research, among others, aims to study the workforce dynamics of women in the limestone industry or in the limestone furnace, with the assumtion that women are classified as the additional breadwinners, ? hisycally weak, emotional, and other female attributes assigned to them, hereforce, this research tries to study how far or how great is the under¬standing about their jobshow work ethic is the women s in the limestone industry, and how significant is their autonomy in their families, particu¬larly, socially and economically. In relation to this study, data were collected by employing in depth interview method and participating field observation. The result of the re¬search reveals that women\u27s involvement in preseving the well-being of their families financially is sufficiently significant. Women show adequately sig¬nificant role in their families, in the work place, as well as in social lives in their communicaties. In their families, these female workers have equel outonomies financially and socially. They consider homemaking or house¬hold, chores and working for money outside the house as naturally usual things that women should do. Homemaking is entirelly a job or a duty that women are completely responsible for, meanwhile, livehood is solely husbands\u27s responsibilities although women still help their husband in their livehood, ith the reason that their husbans\u27s earning would not be sufficient to fulfil their family needs.
