ABSTRACT This research was aimed to find out the relative change of additive and dominance variances for several plant traits after two cycles of mass selection for reducing the time laps between pollen shedding and silking of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt). Mating Design I (North Carolina Design l) of Comstock and Robinson was used and evaluation was done using a Randomized Completely Block Design with two replications. Sixty sets of size 27 x 5 m each were used to evaluate 576 crosses from three populations, so that each set contained 36 crosses.
