ABSTRAK This research is aimed at examining the allocation of optimum input, patterns of optimum forest-farm-operations and price fluctuation to these patterns. The purposive sampling method was used to determine the location of this research. There were 26 farmers used as samples who were selected based on the census method. Then, the data were analysed using Linear Programming method. Optimum analysis was done in the condition that the average constraint of planted area was 0,36 hectare. This analysis was expanded into 6 models in which those were combinations of optimizations with: (1) the constraints of planted area, (2) the increase of fertilizer cost, (3) the increase of labour wages, (4) the increase of rice pnce, (5) the increase of corn price, and (6) the decrease of red chilli price. The optinqization with the constraint of 0,36 hectare planted area resulted in the 2nd pattern which consisted of intercropping non irrigated rice field - red chilli - cassava, as the optimum pattern. This model could yield the maximum income of Rp.285.921,-. Simulations using the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th models did not change the patterns of optimum forest-farm-operations. The increase of the fertilizers cost of Rp.25,-/kg and Rp.50,-/kg has reduced the maximum income into Rp.9.000,- and Rp.18.000,- respectively. The optimization with labour wages has also reduced the maximum income of Rp.8.820,-. The increase of rice price, however, raised the farmers income from Rp.l.000,-/lcg and Rp.2.000,-/kg to be Rp.77.436,- and Rp.335.556,-. The increase of com pnce to be Rp.700, /kg did not change the income as well as the pattern of forest-farm-operations. Nevertheless, the raise of corn price to be Rp.950,-/kg has increased the farmers income of Rp.9.045 as well this has changed the patterns of forest-farm operations to become the 1st pattern which consisted of non irrigated rice field -corn - cassava Because of the decrease of red chilli price for Rp.l.500,-/kg, this caused the farmers income to drop into Rp.64.800,-. This also did not change the forest-farm-operations pattern. Meanwhile, the decrease of red chilli price to be Rp.600,- resulted in the decrease of maximum income for Rp.123.021,-.
