The primary aim of this research was to determine the effects of root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) at different initial population levels on nodulation of mungbean varieties. The experiment was done base on completely randomized design with three replications in factorial. Four kind of mungbean varieties (Merpati, Parkit, Betet, and No.129) and four initial population levels of M. incognita (01.0002.000and 3.000 larvae/pot) were used as treatments. Plant height, number of branches, length of root, number of nodules, shoot dry weight, seed dry weight, number of galls, number of egg mass, root damage, final population of nematode, nitrogen fixation, and total-N were recorded at 30 and60 days after planting. The experiment results showed that all these varieties differ in their respond against infection of root-knot nematode (M. incognita) as well as R. phaseoli. Betet variety was more responsive against R. phaseoli than others, but relatively susceptible to M. incognita infection. Number of nodules were significantly affected by interaction between nematode population levels with mungbean varieties, but not against plant growth as well as yield.
