KAJIAN SOSIOLOGI SASTRA:PERJUANGAN ANAK TERHADAP PENINDASANKELAS SOSIAL PADA OLIVER TWISTKARYA CHARLES DICKENS

ABSTRAC Oliver Twist is an English novel written by Charles Dickens, one of the famous novelist in England in time of Victorian era. The novel is a material object of the present study. The study has aims at: revealing oppression, exploitation and all varieties of injustice to children, revealing social symptoms, ideological forms containing in the novel as a manifestation of a company condition in Victorian era. The study uses a qualitative method and approaches of literary sociology and literary psichology as its support. Those theories succeed in answering problems revealed in the study, especially ones relate to children destinies. For the hero \u27Oliver\u27, he is the manifestation of the authority life beside talking about images of its community lives. Marxism as its view and concept with a superstructure system and economy as its foundation. The author succeded in offering solutions with various contradictions handling down to the novel with class compromises to direct the community to a conductive environment.
