The significance of playing with sand and its role in a childcare curriculum have yet to be determined. Looking at the history of the sandbox, previous studies showed that playing with sand was supported by people who insisted on the importance of free, spontaneous child's play. Moreover, they showed a scientific way to discover a child's nature based on observation of children playing with sand.
