Dos conjunts d'unes 180 varietats tradicionals mediterrànies de 21 països i 205 cultivars moderns d'arreu del món van ser fenotipats i genotipats per proporcionar informació útil als programes de millora genètica de blat dur. Els experiments de camp van ser realitzats durant sis temporades en condicions de secà. El genotipat va ser realitzat amb marcadors DArT (1.149) i DArTseq (46.161).
