Considering that architecture and construction play an active part in the current global warming problems, there is a need to develop resistant construction materials with coherent environmental characteristics. The main objective of this research was to test the principles of geopolymerization in the manufacture of experimental polymerized-clay bricks and to improve the mechanical characteristics of the bricks, while maintaining low levels of embodied energy. The research included the state of the art of clays, geopolymers and an experimental study that included the design, manufacturing, characterization and analysis of raw materials and experimental bricks based on clay.
