342-348This paper presents experimental investigation on improvement of mechanical properties of both plain cement concrete (PCC) and fibre reinforced concrete (FRC) confined with un-plastisized poly-vinyl chloride (UPVC) pipes, which has been considered for enhancing durability of concrete structures. UPVC pipes with outer diameter 160 mm and length 300 mm have been used with three different average thicknesses viz. 2.55 mm, 4.0 mm and 5.8 mm, respectively to explore its composite performance, effectiveness in strength and ductility improvement in construction industry particularly in corrosion environment. Three series of concrete M20, M25, M30 have been designed as per the latest version of Indian Standard Code of practice IS 10262:2009....
