Add to ORKG1105-1107Several new mixed ligand complexes of composition [Ni(NS)L X2.H2O] (L = PPh3, AsPh3 or OPPh3; X = NO3-, Cl- or NCS-) have been synthesized. The schiff base ligand N,S is obtained by the condensation of furfural with S-benzyldithiocarbazate. The Schiff base S-benzyl-β-N-(furyl)methylenedithiocarbazate acts as a bidentate N,S ligand. Elemental analyses, magnetic and spectral data support octahedral structure for nickel (II) in the above complexes. In alkaline medium, complexes with the deprotonated ligand of compositions [Ni(NS-)L X] [L = AsPh3 or OAsPh3; X = NO3-] and [Ni(NS-)2] have also been isolated.
