912-915Reactions of diorganotin dichlorides with 4-substituted- ɑ, γ-dioxobenzenemethylbutanones, C6H4-XCOCH2COCOOCH3 in 1:2 molar ratio yield neutral complexes of the type, R2Sn[OC(C6H4 - X):CHC (O) COOCH3]2, (where R = CH3, n-C4H9 or C­­6H5, X = H, Br or CH3). These complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses and molecular weight determination. A probable structure in which central tin atom acquires a coordination number of six has been proposed for these derivatives on the basis of IR and NMR (1H, 13C and 119Sn) spectral studies
