761-764The effect of change in surface area, thermal treatment (400-500°C), electrical conductivity (σ) and chromia content of chromia-alumina catalyst on dehydrocyclisation of n-hexane and n-heptane has been investigated over these catalysts. The kinetics of the reaction has been investigated and the energy of activation calculated. The surface area and electrical properties are not important factors in the conversion of aliphatic hydrocarbons over these catalysts. Increase in calcination temperature decreases the surface area. The activity of the catalyst depends on the chemical composition; dehydrocyclisation increases with increase in chromia content
