Studies on complexes of La(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), Eu(III), Gd(III) and Dy(III) Nd(III), Sm(III), Eu(III), Gd(III) and Dy(II) with 2-thenoylhydrazine

494-4962-Thenoylhydrazine, TH, forms complexes of the type [Ln(TH)3C12]Cl [Ln = La(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), Eu(III), Gd(III) and Dy(III)], The complexes have been characterised on the basis of conductance, magnetic moment, electronic, infrared d J H NM~ spectral data. Molar conductance values in DMF solution indicate 1:1 electolytic behaviour of the complexes. The nephelauxetic ratio (), the bonding parameter (b1/2) and covalency parameter (δ) have been evaluated from the electronic spectra of the Pr(III), Nd(III) and Sm(III) complexes. These studies show that the complexes are 8-coordinated and the ligand (TH) exhibits bidentate ligational behaviour in these complexes
