Synthesis and structural chemistry of some tin complexes of 1,3-dihydro-l,3-dioxo-ɑ-(substi tuted)-2H-isoindole- 2-acetic acids in subvalent state

439-441Some tin(II) complexes of 1,3-dihydro-l,3-dioxo-ɑ-(substituted)-2H-isoindole-2-acetic acids having general formula [CH(R)COO]2 Sn, where R = - H, -CH3 -CH2C6H5, -CH(CH3)2, -CH(C2H5)(CH3) and -CHR = -CH2CH have been synthesized by the reaction of anhydrous tin dichloride with sodium salts of N-protected amino acids in refluxing tetrahydrofuran solution. These derivatives have been characterized by elemental analyses and molecular weight measurements. A square-pyramidal geometry has been suggested on the basis of spectral evidences
