Organotin derivatives of diphenyl glycolates

454-456Triorganotin or diorganotin chlorides/oxides react with diphenyl glycolic acid to yield diorganotin diphenyl glycolates. These diorganotin diphenyl glycolates are found to be penta coordinated tin compounds on the basis of elemental analyses, IR and NMR spectral data except in the case of dimethyltin bis(diphenyl glycolate) which is hexa coordinated in nature. The molecular weight determinations suggest the monomeric nature of the organotin derivatives
