Copyright Law Enforcement: An Indonesia Case Study

276-284Copyright protection is an essential factor to support the nation's creativity. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of copyright law enforcement in Indonesia. The analysis focuses on the implementation of copyright regulations and the influence factors. Data were gathered through literature study, interview, and observation. Data were analyzed by framework law enforcement theory of Lawrence M. Friedman. The results showed that the enforcement of copyright law in Indonesia had obstacles from the government officers and the society. The government officers had limited knowledge about the copyright and habitual corrupt behavior. The society had low awareness and assumed that copyright infringement was not a violation of the law. This research is expected to contribute to overcome copyrights infringement in Indonesia and become a reference for other countries
