255-263In this study, the effect of fibre, yarn and fabric variables on heat and moisture transport properties of single jersey plated fabrics has been studied. Thermal properties, air permeability as well as moisture vapor and liquid transport properties of fabrics are found to be affected by fibre types, yarn linear density and fabric loop length. Slack fabrics knitted at longer loop length and with finer yarns in the inner layer show lower thermal insulation and are suitable choice as summer wear due to improved permeability of fabrics to air and moisture vapor.
