193-195Formation of ternary complexes of copper(ll) with -histidine. glutamic acid and aspartic acid as primary ligands and imidazole, 2-methylimidazole and 2-ethylimidazole as secondary ligands has been studied potentiometrically in aqueous medium. The stabilities of the ternary complexes follow the order aspA ≥ glutA > -his with respect to amino acids and 2-methylimidazole ≥ 2-ethylimidazole > imidazole with respect to imidazoles. These orders have been explained in terms of electronic and molecular structures
