956-958The oxidation of .Ru111 (EDTA) (H20)- 1 with single oxygen atom donors (viz. H2O2, PhIO, KHSO5, NaOCI, Py-N-oxide) has been studied spectrophotometrically by following the development of characteristic peak of the Ruv = O (EDT A)- oxo-complex 2. The activation parameters have been' calculated in terms of a mechanism involving an intramolecular oxygen atom transfer from oxidant to complex 1. A reactivity scale has been set for the oxidants ClO-, PyO. H2O2, KHSO5 and C6H5IO on the basis of ΔG values
